FAQ'S
GENERAL
Q: Which Venues do you provide your Bridal Dresser Services in?
A: You can see our regular locations on our Locations page, but we do cover many others - always happy to be at a new Venue!
Q: What area do you provide your Bridal Dresser and Steaming Services in?
A: We work in an area covering Glasgow across to Edinburgh and then down to the Scotland - England Border. A list of some of the Venues we have attended Brides at can be seen on our Locations page.
Q: Do you help the Groom / Groomsmen?
A: Whilst we don’t actually dress the menfolk, we do provide our ‘Final Flourish’ services that includes: Steaming of Suits and Shirts, checking Kilts (correct length / sporran in proper location / socks / laces correctly tied) and Buttonhole placement.
Q: Why are there no prices on the website?
A: Everyone’s Weddings, Gowns, and Bridal Parties are different, so prices are different. Our services are bespoke so our quotes and prices are bespoke too. Please do fill in your details and get a quote here.
Q: Why do you need so much info for a quote?
A: It helps us know how long it will take for our services. Dresses can vary dramatically in size, style and material, so as it’s likely to be the most expensive dress you’ve ever bought, we need to treat it with the care and time it deserves. This is true of our Dressing and Steaming services. We want our ‘white glove’ service to help remove as much stress as possible from your Wedding Day.
BOOKING & PAYMENT
Q: How do you work out the price?
A: We take into account the complexity of your Gown, the services required, the number of people in your Bridal Party (requiring our services), and the location of your Venue. This allows us to work out the time it will take us to get you all ready! For example, we can spend anywhere between 45 mins to an hour steaming a Gown, depending on the type of material and the number of layers and length of train. Bridesmaid dresses and Mother of Bride/Groom outfits can vary in time needed to ensure they are crease free too. Dressing times may also vary dependent on the type of fastening you have (zip, corset back, button).

Q: Why do we ask for a photo of my Gown?
A: A photo of your Gown helps us see the complexity of its style and how long it might take us to steam it. Where your dress has been in storage for some time it gives us an indication of how creased it might be. Also, if the train is very long it may require an extra set of hands to work with it.
ON YOUR WEDDING DAY
Q: What type of room to you need to carry out your work?
A: To enable us to provide a Steaming Service we would either require a suitably sized bathroom or a room where we will not be competing with the Hair and Makeup (steam can cause makeup to run and hair to drop). If it’s an unfamiliar venue to us we will discuss this with you beforehand. For dressing we ask for an area that is large enough for your dress and away from Hair and Makeup, with a bit of privacy for you.
Q: What should I do with my dress on my Wedding Day?
A: If at all possible, it helps if you can take your Gown out of its travel bag and hang it up - letting the material breath. We appreciate this may not be possible if the Groom is likely to be around.
Q: Why do I need to have a “Ready By” time?
We ask this question so that we can ensure the smooth running of your preparations and that we have you dressed in ample time to get to the Wedding Room/Venue on time. If you are staying at the venue this can be anything from 15 to 20 minutes prior to the Ceremony, however, if you are travelling to another location for the Service then it will depend on when your transport is booked for.
Q: What happens if a button comes off, or a seam splits, etc?
A: Don’t Panic! We bring a comprehensive kit with us to try and cover this type of situation and will make every effort to sort the issue for you. We are your ‘Fairy Godmothers’ after all!
Q: Can additional services be added on the day?
A: This will depend on the complexity of the task required and the time available. We can’t risk making you late for your Big Day! If we can fit extra work in, it will be chargeable on the day.
